What we need is some music this weekend!

They say music is good for the soul and if that's the case, you've got plenty of opportunities this weekend to get your fill in Columbus, GA!  I'm hearing lots of buzz about the latest production at the Springer Opera House called "Lend Me A Tenor."  Anything with a creative title like that has got to be good!  That and the fact this Broadway classic has won three Tony Awards is a pretty good indication we're going to love this one.  And the plot?  Just know that it involves the greatest tenor of his generation, an accidental double dose of tranquilizers, and a theatre assitant who tries to fool the audience as a stand-in.  What could possibly go wrong with that?!

If you're in the mood for a little classical music Saturday night, you're in luck because we just happen to have one of the oldest and best orchestras in the nation and they call Columbus home.  For this performance at RiverCenter, the Columbus Symphony Orchestra is welcoming Atlanta Symphony Orchestra concertmaster, David Coucheron, with a performance of Samuel Barber's lyrical violin concerto.  They'll also be doing works by the mystical Alan Hovhaness, the most famous American composer Aaron Copland, and a "Romantic" symphony by Howard Hanson.

Whether you sing along, hum along, tap your toes or just let the music take you away, get out and enjoy a tune or two this weekend!
