The Pseudo-Spring Fun Continues!
Can you believe it? Two weekends in a row that Mother Nature is teasing us with a sneak-peek at the great weather Spring will bring us in a few short weeks. We'd better get out and enjoy it while it lasts! How about a few ideas of some things to get out and do this weekend? Here are some items to get you started, but remember to check out the Community Calendar to find out more about these and lots more.
All the country music fans out there, listen up because this promises to be a big weekend! Brad Paisley is making his way back to Columbus for his H2O Frozen Tour, Friday night (Feb 25) at the Columbus Civic Center! Brad’s got some great its including Water, Alcohol, Mud on the Tires, and Ticks. His songs range from the sweet to the hilarious. He’ll be joined on stage by special guests, Darrius Rucker, formerly of Hootie and the Blowfish, and Jerrod Niemann. Both of these guys have fantastic hits on the radio right now so I guarantee this will be a concert you don’t want to miss. Get out your cowboy boots and hats and get ready! Tickets are $29.75 & $59.95 and the show starts at 7:30pm.
If you prefer ghosts to country music, than the Parafied: Overnight Ghost Hunting Class at the National Civil War Naval Museum at Port Columbus is for you! This Saturday (Feb 26), the Alabama Paranormal Research Team will hold a professional ghost hunting class. Attendees will learn how to conduct a paranormal investigation, how the equipment works, and what happens during a ghost hunt. Tickets are $65 per person and include a guided tour of the museum and its most haunted areas, 5 hours of investigative time, access to investigative equipment, access to hear, view and download the findings from your investigation and a copy of the DVD “Apparitions-Investigating the Paranormal.” Space is very limited so make your reservations today! The weather is so fantastic right now, it really makes me want to head to the hardware store and get started on some kind of home improvement project…so for all those people out there like me, you’re in for a special treat with the Home and Garden Show at the Columbus Convention and Trade Center this weekend. There will be over 65 local and regional vendors featuring products for the home, lawn and garden all under one roof. There’s free activities for kids, door prizes, coupon saving seminars and the first 500 adults will receive a free gift bag. This is the perfect way to start off your spring cleaning and improving…with tips from the pros. It’s so much easier to do it right the first time, rather than having to undo a big mess. Admission is only $2. (706.576.6252)

There are several ways to win the race, including Merit, the teams that raises the most money, Fastest Bed, Best Theme which is most creative or funniest appearance, Team Spirit which is the team that brings the most fans to cheer for them, Crowd’s Choice and Divisional Race Winners.
