Let the Weekend Begin…....Now!

Why is it that when it's a short work week because of a holiday, it can have the opposite effect and feel like the longest week ever!?  Maybe because we've tried to cram 5 days worth of work into 4 days...yep, that'll do it.  So if you've had enough work-fun for one week, then turn your attention to some of the fun stuff going on around town.  What are you in the mood for?  Music?  Then check out the Friday Night Concert in Uptown with a groovy band called Lava Lamp,  Or there's a show at Riverside Theatre Complex called "Suds!  The Rockin' 60's Musical Soap Opera" or you can go back even further in the music time machine with a production Saturday night at RiverCenter that's all based on the music of Jerome Kern...you might not immediately recognize his name, but you will know every single song and will be singing along with everyone else before the night is over!  Feel like a run?  Then lace up your sneakers on Saturday and join in on the 2nd Annual Red Shoe Run at the Columbus Civic Center to benefit the Ronald McDonald House.  Dinner and a show?  We've got that too with Sherlock's Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre's production of "A Whitewater Murder Mystery."  How about some football?  The Columbus Lions will be taking on the Lehigh Valley Steel Hawks Saturday night at 7:00 at the Civic Center.  And if you're just need of a good laugh, then No Shame Theatre at the Springer Opera House is the ticket.

No matter what you're in the mood for this weekend, looks like you'll find it in Columbus, GA!
