I’ve got a Secret…and I’m not keeping this one!
There are secrets you'll keep forever, there are secrets you wouldn't dare share with anyone else, and then there are secrets you just can't wait to share with anyone and everyone! And that's what this is...one of the best kept secrets in Columbus has to be the Visitors Center at 900 Front Avenue and I'm here to tell the world about it. Whether you're a visitor, just moving to town or have lived here you whole life, this Center is wealth of information. Full of brochures about all the things to do in Columbus, the surrounding area and even the state, event information, and videos to whet your appetite on new adventures. Speaking of appetite, in the Gift Shop, you can even satisfy some cravings for Southern goodies like cheese straws made from grits...and they are delicious, muscadine jelly, and barbecue sauce. Or pick up some really cool Columbus, GA or Whitewater T-shirts, caps, sunglasses, picnic bags, and a good variety of books with topics from history, to cooking to ghost stories! Pop in anytime Monday-Friday from 8:30am-5:30pm or if you're out and about on Saturday, come on in between 10:00am-2:00pm. I'm telling you...it's worth the visit just to pick up a box of those Cheddar Cheese Grits Bits!
