February…It’s not just for Valentine’s anymore!

Poor February.  Its only claim to fame for most of us is a one-day holiday in the middle of the month that involves sappy, cheesy cards, plastic-like chocolate, and a stuffed animal to cuddle with, which would be great if you were 6 years old.  We complain that it's too cold and grey outside and it's just a dull, listless month sandwiched between the end of the holidays and the beginning of Spring.  But wait.  All is not lost. The times, they are a-changing.

Last night, while online to order tickets for a performance at the RiverCenter, I completely got sucked into their event calendar and was stunned at all of the events on their lineup between now and the end of the month.  So who cares if it's cold, windy and rainy outside, we've got tons of indoor fun to take advantage of under one roof!  I ordered my tickets for the Russian Ballet's performance of Swan Lake on Feb. 20, and I'm also considering taking the plunge on tickets for The Time Jumpers featuring Vince Gill, Music City Hitmakers with the Columbus Symphony Orchestra, and a little later this month, you can catch the Broadway musical Jekyll and Hyde, or have a little laugh-therapy with comedian Kathleen Madigan.  OK, I admit it.  I went ahead and ordered ticktets to see her because a few good belly-laughs would do me good.  See ya, winter doldrums.

Thinks there's nothing fun to do in February?  Think again and take a look at the Event Calendar...it will make you look at the dead of winter in a whole different light!
