Elvis is Back in the Building!  It’s “King Creole” at the Springer Opera House Crowley Film Series.

Break out the leather jumpsuits and fry up a peanut butter and banana sandwich because it's all about Elvis at the Springer Opera House this Saturday night (Aug. 16)!  As part of their Crowley Classic Film Series, they'll set up a huge screen on the main stage and we'll all get to enjoy "King Creole," regarded as Elvis Presley's best film.  It's a 1958 musical drama starring Elvis as Danny Fisher, a young delinquent who flunks out of high school and is making ends meet working as a busboy in a nightclub until one night when he gets the chance to perform as a singer. Success is imminent (well heck yeah...we're talking about Elvis here) and the local crime boss Maxie Fields wants to hire him to perform at his night club The Blue Shade. Danny refuses, but Fields won't take no for an answer.  What's a singing legend to do?!  Let's meet at the Springer Saturday night and find out how this ends.  Something tells me if Elvis is involved, he's going to come out on top.  The movie starts at 7:30pm and the Saloon opens at 6:30pm so you can get popcorn, sodas and all the fixin's for the perfect movie night!
