Countdown has Begun…Only 9 Days Until Spring!
You only need to step outside and see the sun a little higher in the sky, the temps climbing a bit, and of course even a few yellow particles of pollen already floating in the air, and you know Spring is just around the corner. Just 9 more days and we'll be cranking up one of the best times all year to get outside, find new adventures and events to enjoy, brush away the cobwebs of Winter and clear your head. And speaking of events, I can promise you this new season is bringing lots and lots of both indoor and outdoor fun and one of the best ways you can keep track of it all is by hopping onto the Event Calendar to get all the who, what, when and where info.
Spring hasn't even offically sprung yet, but just take a look at all that's going on this weekend! Tonight it all kicks off with the Synovus Toast of the Town at RiverMill Event Center, which is a big fundraiser for the Columbus Symphony Orchestra and be ready for all kinds of tasty treats like specialty beer, wine, spirits and lots of great food. And it looks like RiverMill is a hotspot this weekend because you can also take in the murder mystery with Sherlock's Mystery Dinner Theatre, this one called, "Iceberg, Ho! THe Voyage of the S.S. Gigantic." You know the food is going to be terrific because Chef Jamie Keating is in charge and I can guarantee you'll be entertained by the theatre part...and you might even become a part of the action.
Find some old, light-colored clothes and lace up your running shoes and head to Uptown Columbus for the biggest and most fun run all year long! It's time for the annual Color Me Rad 5K and if you've never participated, it's a hoot!! Last year, there was a huge turnout and it was so cool to see groups of friends all dressed alike and families with kids in tow having a blast getting 'baptized' with the blue, pink, yellow, orange, and purple colors. Even if you don't run or walk, it's a site to see!
And you can cap off this weekend with some mellow sounds from one of the best musicians on the planet, Chris Botti. He's a Grammy-award winning jazz trumpeter and I hear he's also a great storyteller and loves audience interaction during the performance. Got my tickets already and really looking forward to this one at RiverCenter this Saturday night.
That's just a taste of what's going on this weekend...so just you wait until Spring REALLY gets here...it's going to be epic!
