At the End of the Year, Explore Columbus In the Week Between Christmas and New Year’s Day!
All of the wrapping paper is put away, the tree is growing brittle, the cookies and egg nog have been consumed (too much so), family and guests have gone home (or not), and the family is growing restless. What do you do in the last days of the year that are short, cold, and often aimless? Columbus has some options for you!
If you live in the Mid-South area, Columbus is just a bit over an hour’s drive from Montgomery and Atlanta. It makes for a perfect place for an overnight trip to visit military and history museums, take nature hikes, bike rides, walking tours, eat at great restaurants, catch a Broadway quality show, and explore the history and scenery of the Chattahoochee River Valley.
Take a local historic sightseeing tour that explores Columbus from many different angles. Or, plan a trip to the “Fantasy in Lights” at the incredible, beautiful, nearby Callaway Gardens and stay in Columbus as a home base. Visit the Smithsonian quality National Infantry Museum and the National Civil War Naval Museum . There is so much to do!
As the year winds down and you draw close to family, why not plan an adventure? An excursion to Columbus to explore, learn, eat great food, see amazing things, laugh, and play together?
